Four Seasons of Summer is a contemporary romance by Dana L Brown. Married to successful architect Michael Alcott for the last thirty-five years, Summer seems to have it all. She lives in a beautiful house in Smyrna Beach, Florida, and has two grown-up boys starting their careers. Working from home as a web designer, the fifty-eight-year-old housewife tries to stay away from social media as she goes through her daily routine. However, she feels that something is missing in her life. When she is hired by Jake Ross, a reputable restaurant critic, she feels alive again. From business associates, the two become friends and Summer finds herself looking forward to online messages from Jake. Meanwhile, her relationship with her husband goes through some rough patches. Will Summer find the happiness and fulfillment she is looking for?
Dana L Brown’s Four Seasons of Summer is an amazing read. It should be easy for many women to identify with Summer Alcott. She is a middle-aged woman who is strong but vulnerable, intelligent, and interesting. Jake Ross, on the other hand, is vulnerable, fascinating, capable, and a bit mysterious. The emotional conflict that keeps them from being together is complex and believable, and their emotional journey is logical and realistic. This is a contemporary romance plot that will resonate with the modern woman and is a must-read for fans of romantic stories. Having said that, this should be a fascinating read for men who want to understand modern women too. Brown is a master storyteller and this is entertaining and informative. Highly recommended!
