The idea of traveling to the future is exciting, but also terrifying for 18-year-old Margaret, but she’s certain that it’s the answer to all of her problems. But the 21st century is nothing like the 19th century that she left behind. Not the city, not the technology, and certainly not the boy with a penchant for 19th-century female writers who suddenly throws her into a whirlwind of new experiences. In Forever Lovely, by Linore Rose Burkard, you’ll be immersed in a love story that spans two very different eras but can’t be broken.
Margaret is the girl that we often all feel that we are. The girl who feels plain, unimportant, and entirely out of the ‘inner circle’ of what makes someone special. But watching her experience new things, meet new people, and overcome her own obstacles to find love is heartwarming and endearing. And of course, we can’t forget the object of that love because Stewart is certainly the boy we all want to marry. (Though perhaps without all that business about being followed and running for his life.) In Forever Lovely by Linore Rose Burkard you find adventure, love, family, friendship, and sacrifice in a way that makes you want to just keep reading. Each of the characters (and there are, of course, more people you’ll meet along the way) is fun and interesting, and each one is there to help guide Stewart and Margaret to make the right decisions, moving toward each other and the future that both of them have always dreamed of, but never dared to believe was out there.
