Tom and Colleen Williams want to have fun at the concert with their friends, but everything changes when what seems like a burgeoning romance between up-and-coming artist Liam Sanstrom and his date, Dina Savage, turns into a date rape… or is it? Tom finds himself irreversibly pulled into the mystery, navigating a dangerous path where ambition, the quest for power, and revenge leave many lives broken. Can he uncover the truth? And will he ever recover from how entrenched his life is in this tragedy?
Fly Away: The Metamorphosis of Dina Savage by Ray Dan Parker is a page-turner that follows characters from the glitz of Atlanta to the rural Mississippi Delta, a spellbinding story that puts readers on the edge of their seats. The story is cunningly plotted, and from the start, the reader is intrigued by the characters. While Liam, the young rising star, seems to like Dina, Heather thinks he's an idiot for falling for a woman with the fake boobs and the looks of a Barbie doll. But Dina has charm and warmth to match her looks. The complexity in the plot is marvelously accomplished, and the theme of sexual harassment is written from a perspective that will surprise readers. The author has a wonderful gift for dialogue, and readers will enjoy the banter between Tom and his circle of friends. The characters are sophisticated, and Dina will intrigue readers as they follow her transformation and how the pain of being hurt in her life leads her to commit a horrible crime. But why she became Dawn is another piece of the puzzle that readers will want to know. Fly Away: The Metamorphosis of Dina Savage is a fascinating tale with complex characters, a gripping plot, and elaborately developed themes.
