Native Western New York author, and world traveler, Bill Parker, spent most of his career engineering high-tech manufacturing systems for companies around the world. An accomplished deep space astrophotographer, he was a contributing editor for Modern Astronomy magazine when it was based in Attica, New York, working mainly on astrophotography articles and projects.
Bill Parker has been a Black Belt in Isshin Ryu Karate and a martial artist for more than forty years. The times when all that stood between him and certain death was his martial arts gave Bill the indomitable spirit that pervades his thinking and writing to this day.

The Corporate War was over but it did not end well for Captain Dallas Blake. The war had cost him dearly in the loss of his wife and daughter. He was now a man in need of a new beginning. At the Union Fleet space docks to buy a war surplus scout-class ship, little did he know that he was buying the Tesseract with alien technology and artificial life forms. Dallas is initially the only true human aboard. His crew consisted of a pair of androids and a holographic co-pilot called Jessica. And then there was Mariah.
Along the way he must solve several mysteries to rescue the young girl Emma from the mercenaries on a distant planet. But, saving the girl is just the first of his problems. To do this, Dallas will have to place himself and his crew into really dangerous situations where they need to use all their combined skills if they are to survive.
I have always been a fan of good space opera. Five Moons: Resurrection by Bill Parker is very good space opera. The author has created a superb cast of characters, human and non-human, with entertaining and witty interactions. The plot, while standard space opera, has enough new elements to make it quite enjoyable. The dialogue is first rate, particularly between the non-humans. This story actually contains it all; drama, adventure, romance, and danger. I look forward to reading the next installment of the adventures of Captain Dallas Blake and the crew of the Five Moons. Well done.
