First Time Leadership by Daniel Lee and Avi Liran is a great book on leadership, and in it, the authors answer the question: What does it take for leaders to lead successfully? Presenting a work that involves in-depth research and interviews with 220 leaders across the globe, the authors identify key qualities of effective leaders and highlight some of the things that change the game in leadership, including effective communication, collaboration, taking ownership, self-awareness, and more. While the book provides a proven path to successful leadership, it features thirty stories that are educative and entertaining at the same time. Readers learn from seasoned leaders and define their leadership style through the well-thought-out exercises that are presented.
Organized, well-researched, and logically presented, this book provides insights and leadership lessons for readers that will not only help them get started on their leadership journey but will also provide the tools existing leaders need to excel. I enjoyed the insights from different leadership styles and greatly appreciated the idea that leadership is about positive influence. The writing itself is beautiful and ordinary readers will find it easy to access the information that is so generously shared. This book is a gem for aspiring leaders and anyone who wants to lead better; it redefines the key tenets of leadership and provides tools that will help readers take control of their journey towards effectively leading others. Daniel Lee and Avi Liran understand what readers need and they deliver it with style and flair, communicating what is essential in a language that is beautiful and with authority that grabs readers by the hand and leads them toward their leadership goals.
