Finding Paige is a brilliant psychological thriller by Renee Scarrott. Twenty-two years ago, when she was just eight years old, Paige, Olivia's best friend, vanished mysteriously. Olivia experiences recurrent dreams and a strong desire to learn the truth about what truly happened to Paige. Olivia completes her criminal justice studies and pursues a career as a criminal investigator because she is driven to find the truth at any cost. Olivia’s request to open Paige's cold case is met with resistance. Olivia receives a call from Luke, a mysterious stranger who claims to know something about Paige's disappearance. Olivia has access to information that was never made public, thanks to Luke. Olivia returns to the spot where Paige vanished as she follows the clues. Olivia experiences an unexplainable sense of dread, and she senses that there is trauma buried deep within her memories.
Renee Scarrott crafted a compelling work in Finding Paige. It was a rollercoaster ride of suspense, intrigue, and psychological tension that had me hooked from beginning to end. I could not stop turning the pages of this captivating story because I was so engrossed in it. I was left wanting more as each unexpected revelation flowed into the next without a hitch. Each character had their secrets and motivations, making them believable and fascinating. As Olivia dealt with the ramifications of Paige’s loss in her life, I felt a tangible sense of tension and dread. I could identify with Olivia's captivating personality but could not stop feeling sorry for her situation. The plot took unexpected turns as it developed, leading to a surprising ending that left me with no unanswered questions.
