Kim T.S. presents Feeling All My Fear: Helping Kids Overcome Fear, a children’s picture book from the Feeling All My Feelings book collection that aims to help children understand, accept, and conquer their fears. The story follows Ellie, a little pig in a yellow dress, who is scared of many things and fears being alone. Some of her friends find the things she is scared of weird because they are not afraid of them. Ellie learns that everyone has different fears, and being scared keeps us alert and safeguards us from danger. She shares her feelings with an adult, and they help her cope and prepare for scary moments.
After reading a previous work in the Feeling All My Feelings collection, I could not wait to read another book from this series. Feeling All My Fear is a lovely read and a great addition to this collection. Kim T.S. explains why children get scared, the function of fear, and how they can control their emotions. The lessons in this book can apply to both children and adults. Fear is a powerful emotion that can turn into paranoia, and learning to master it at a young age can help your child’s mental development. The book also contains eye-catching illustrations that will grab children’s attention and keep them glued to it. I loved the details like the little mouse on Ellie’s shoulder and the consistent background theme that features in all the books in this series. I recommend parents and caregivers read this book with their children and help them learn how to handle fear.
