Fat Cat Sam was a friendly cat and always enjoyed meeting new people and chatting with them. Fat Cat Sam had made many friends and he thought he did not need any more friends. Pam put him on the mat outside and Sam saw a puppy coming. He hid behind the tulips and stared at the puppy. The puppy stared back at him and introduced himself as Spot. Sam turned and fled from the place. He ran home and wrote a Hi note, folded it like an airplane, and tossed it. Would Sam and Spot become friends?
Fat Cat Sam Almost Makes a Friend by Ashley Moluf is a delightful and charming story written in rhyming verses. The story is easy to understand and this book is the best way to introduce children to reading. Baris Celik makes the story captivating and silly with adorable illustrations that are not only enjoyable but give a personality and individuality to Sam and make him real and relatable to child readers. All the characters in the story have a uniqueness of their own which makes them likable. Stories like this are easy and simple for children not only to read but also to grasp quickly. It is a good book for tutors and parents to use for storytelling and read-aloud sessions in classrooms and homes, not only to bring a smile to the faces of children but also to introduce them to rhyming words and new words in a fun way.
