Fake Fiance, Real Revenge is the third book in the Three River Ranch series by Roxanne Snopek. In an effort to navigate a multi-million dollar deal that could really push him into the big league, Mitch Granger finds himself telling the little white lie that he is engaged to the only girl who pops into his mind, Sabrina Becker, in order to escape the clutches of a manipulative client trying to push her step-daughter onto him. He ends up flinging himself on the mercy of his former love, Sabrina, and she’s willing to help, but only in order to exact some sweet revenge. But as the farce continues, old flames are fanned and it becomes difficult to tell fake from real.
Oh, my gosh. The feels. THE FEELS. All of them. This is my favorite of the three books in this series. The experience of loss and discovery of their individual journeys alone when they should have (would have) walked that together, had they been more mature and honest, was heartbreaking. I think the character arcs, the vulnerabilities, the history of the couple, the blurred emotional/relational lines, the tension, the heartache, the banter and dialogue - just everything - was better in the development of this relationship. I also love a good story of redemption, healing, and reconciliation but add that on top of a knock out love story, a ‘fake fiance’ plot, and dynamic characters, and BAM! it just makes me feel all the feels. Great job, Snopek. You’ve got me coming back for more.
