The book includes stunning images of the buildings, food, and people that make London the city that it is. Various facts are woven throughout to give a broader sense of the industry, culture, and history of London, introducing children to the Royal Botanical Gardens, pub grub, London’s Great Fire, celebrations, and more. The book includes a map and a list of quick facts that dive further into London’s history.
This is a great resource to teach children about a new place - an amazing city of art, culture, and sports. Lovely photographs are woven throughout of the breathtaking sights along with visuals of the food, people, and celebrations. Patricia Hutchison includes an overview of history that includes London’s Great Fire that saw the destruction of 1,300 buildings, dives all the way back to 50 CE with the founding by the Romans, and the Industrial Revolution that gave way to the London of today. The book includes questions throughout that will inspire children to ask questions about places around the world.
The book even has humorous facts such as looking for UFOs and educational facts that teach about the arts scene specifically exploring the National Gallery and the Royal Albert Hall.
