This time, Eudora becomes friends with Walter, who has been cast as one of the dwarfs in a school play. If you are not following this series yet, Walter is a robot officer aboard Athena. Part of the excitement and interest in every AstroFleet ship is its diverse officers coming from all walks of life and galaxies. The kids love Walter because he loves spending time with them. As a robot, Walter is unfeeling and doesn’t get embarrassed onstage. Trouble ensues when Eudora reprograms Walter’s computer code to make him do something hilarious, and to get back at Molly for getting the best part in the play.

Do the Robot! is a hilarious space adventure that, like the previous books in the series, hinges on the curiosity and wits of its star character, Eudora. Her intelligence and confident attitude make her stand out as an impressive character worthy of carrying this series. I’d like to think of Eudora Space Kid as a Star Trek for young readers. Sensitive to the attention span of its target readers, the story doesn’t bother with too many details and delivers only what its target readers need to know. Having said that, what they learn are events of interest happening aboard the ship, all thanks to Eudora and her friends who provide the hearty laughter in this series, amidst a group of serious, grownup officers who mostly ignore them. This is a must-read series. It’s like the science fiction equivalent of Dragonslayer Academy.

Eudora is cast to play a tree in the play Snow White, whilst her older sister bagged the main role of Snow White. Eudora is tired of hearing about her sister's role and takes it upon herself to sabotage her big kiss scene. The play is ruined and Eudora lands herself in trouble, but the worst is yet to come. A while later, Eudora's anger leads to injuring a very important robot. Will Eudora be able to get herself out of yet another mischievous act? And will the robot be okay in the end? From sabotage to life-like robots, David Horn's book has everything a child could want in a story; from the moment they begin reading, they won't want to put it down. The author has dug deep into his imagination and created a storyline that is full of adventure and mishaps; the kiss scene was hilarious! I enjoyed every word Horn has written, and can't wait to read the next book of the series. Keep up the good work!

Eudora is a plucky hero who’s easy to like, and her dialogue is punchy, witty, and relatable for young readers whilst also being a hoot for adults and teachers who might be helping their kids explore their first chapter books. The illustrations provided by artist Judit Tondora only further bring the work to life and help readers imagine it more easily. Overall, I would recommend Eudora Space Kid: Do the Robot! and the series in general to anyone buying a gift for their young readers, especially those fascinated by wild adventures in outer space.
