Eileen's Tale is an absorbing coming-of-age story about friendship, family, love, and loss. How do you move on from the loss of your loved ones? This is the question Hermione Lee explores in this entertaining fantasy tale filled with magic, action, romance, and intrigue. Lee has crafted an immersive fantasy universe featuring fascinating creatures, a well-built setting, and a unique magical system that makes you want to learn more about the lore of the land. I was attached to the characters from the get-go, mainly because their relationship dynamics always felt believable and distinct. The friendship between Eileen and Alexandria and the love and romance between Eileen and Eric were the highlights of the book for me. I can't wait to read other novels from this series and highly recommend it to young adult fantasy lovers.
