Effective Prayers: Prayers That Move God’s Heart is a work of non-fiction focused on elements of Christian living, penned by author Godwin Arisa. Told across seven core chapters that explain the different elements and actions that go into forming our prayers, the author explains the very nature of prayer and gives a comprehensive view of its purpose and power. There are informative areas for practicing Christians who may not realize or recognize that there are objects in the path of the prayers that they wish to see fulfilled, and key advice on what the author terms ‘right-praying’ to make effective wishes to God for a healthier, happier future life.
Prayer is such a fundamental element to any practicing Christian because it features as an everyday occurrence for them, but that doesn’t mean that they haven’t become ‘automatic’ in their approach to it. Author Godwin Arisa explores the topic by offering a fascinating perspective on the idea that there are correct and effective ways to pray for each individual, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I found the chapter structure to be highly effective in producing an organized and educated look at the nature of prayer, and the progression of ideas towards the language which we use in prayer and our attitudes to it was really eye-opening. I believe that Christians looking for a deeper connection with God are certain to find lots of useful content in Effective Prayers: Prayers That Move God’s Heart, and I would therefore highly recommend it as an insightful and instructive body of work.
