Earl of Exile is the third book in the Lords of Scandal series by Tammy Andresen. The tale continues with Lady Diana Chase and the Earl of Exmouth, Callum. Known as Exile by his friends, the Scottish earl knew he could not keep away from Diana. Her attitude and independence did nothing to push him away like the others. He quickly discovers his feelings for her, yet he knows he cannot have her. He's betrothed to another. Lady Diana, on the other hand, is determined not to have feelings for Lord Exmouth. Men flit around her for her beauty but never stay long and she's certain he will be the same. Besides, she doesn't intend to marry anyway. However, they're forced closer as Lady Abernath's mental state declines and she comes after Diana. Will they be able to survive their feelings and Lady Abernath's plot?
As I have read the first two books of the series, I expected great things from Tammy Andresen and was not disappointed. I loved the main female character - Lady Diana. She's sassy, voices her own opinion, and is independent. She's determined not to let anyone else write her story and save her. It was great to see such a strong female character in literature. In addition, I often found myself giggling throughout the book and liking more of the characters. I also noticed that this book is related to another of Tammy Andresen's books - A Lass to Love. I enjoyed the way she intertwined two different series without making it too complex.
