In the 17th book in the highly successful Inspector Angel series we find Inspector Michael Angel searching for a murderer who dresses like a priest and is wearing a dog collar. Four people have been murdered already.
Inspector Michael Angel is up to his elbows in crime and murders. What starts out as a robbery of an armored truck turns into several murders. The murderer is looking for something at each of the parish houses where a priest is killed. The only clue is he is wearing a white scapular, a garment only used on certain days according to the church calendar. Now a new investigation has come to light: someone is dealing in cocaine. Is there a connecting thread between the three crimes? Not only is Michael trying to solve these three crimes, his wife is giving him a headache. He’s unsure whether there is less stress at home or the station.
This is the first book that I have read of the Inspector Angel series, but I like the author’s style of writing. I did have some of the mystery figured out about three-quarters of the way through but had the murderer wrong. I could not figure it out, but Michael Angel laid out his deductions at the conclusion. I would have enjoyed a few more clues. This is a great mystery. Now I need to read the whole series.
