At the age of 33, one day Michael finds himself at home, alone. His children are at school and his wife is out running errands. He experiences a sharp back pain and has no one to call. Luckily his wife finds him and, within no time, Michael finds himself in a hospital’s emergency room where the doctor reveals how serious his illness is. Michael’s enzyme blood counts are 3,163 while the normal count is supposed to be within the range of 135-170. This was how dire the situation was. What had started out like a normal day suddenly turned dark, but God had a plan for his life and it was still not yet time for him to go. Michael’s story is only one amongst many other inspiring stories contained in Do You Believe in Miracles? Ordinary People Tell Their Extraordinary Stories by Jane Finch.
As I read Jane Finch’s Do You Believe in Miracles? my heart was filled with encouragement, inspiration, and faith. Hope was awakened in me to believe that miracles still take place today and God’s love and truth are still present, even in this present age. Every story included in the book reflects God’s supernatural wisdom, His provision, and fervent love for humanity. Above everything, reading Do You Believe in Miracles? brought me closer to God. Finch reveals God’s character through the stories she includes in her book. From the misconception of a faraway, detached being, Jane Finch revealed to me the far-reaching love God has for His people and His longing and willingness to be involved in our lives. Truly, a life-changing read!
