Different From the Other Kids: Natural Alternatives Edition by Angela Tsounis, with a conclusion by Dr. Jonathan Prousky, ND, MSc, MA, is dedicated to all the children who have felt they are different from others, and all the parents who are going through grief, confusion, and frustration handling a child with mental illness. The author provides support and advice to parents who need it by giving them new concepts that may have merit in helping their children. For parents who have mentally challenged children, the book advises them to elevate their dreams and lower their expectations for themselves and their children.
The author’s words are comforting and therapeutic, and give hope to parents. The book will help them build the possibility of bringing in more peace, relaxation, healthy eating, and all the other good things that will increase happiness. The author's experiences of living with a daughter who is bipolar and seeking natural alternatives are informative and helpful to all parents who have mentally challenged children. No one knows the issues their child is going to face once they start with medication.
The book throws light on Naturopathic treatments and the interview with Dr Jiwani, a Naturopathic doctor, is quite helpful to all who want to look into the natural side of things. The book is optimistic and sets the tone for transformation when it comes to treating mentally challenged children. The idea of using natural alternatives is also important as it might minimize the need for psychiatric medications and have a holistic approach to help a child.
