Death At The Zendo is an enthralling murder mystery crime novel written by Ben Sen Dan Foley. Plagued by nightmares after his wife left him for another man, Bo decides to revisit the Zendo of his younger days in an attempt to find inner peace within the sanctum of the monastery. However, his visit doesn't go as planned when a series of murders sends the community over the edge. To complicate matters further, Bo's mentor turns out to be a sexual deviant, and a search is called upon one of his closest friends by the local authorities who mark him as the prime suspect for the murders. Meanwhile, Bo takes it upon himself to seek out the killer. But he must be careful as he sets himself up as the bait.
If you love reading whodunnit stories, you're going to breeze through Death At The Zendo. The plot moves at breakneck speed, and you never see the twists and turns coming as they keep you hooked throughout the pages. Author Ben Sen Dan Foley makes it a point to keep the killer's identity shrouded in mystery until the last pages, crafting an immersive story that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The characters are diverse, and their colorful personalities make for an entertaining reading experience. I found Bo, Prema, and Le Maestro to be my personal favorites amongst the bunch. I also enjoyed the subtle humor sprinkled in between some of the more suspenseful moments. Anyone looking for a well-crafted murder mystery should find Death At The Zendo immensely rewarding.
