Crying Over Spilt Light (God Complex Universe) by George Saoulidis was a very interesting concept about what exactly a muse is. As any kind of artist will attest, the muse is what gives the artist their sense of inspiration. Some might go so far as to say it is a window into their soul. So can a muse be artificially created? Can a robot (or so called intelligent life) inspire? Can it replace the soul? Or the lost creativity of a dried up, over worked, tired man? These are some of the deep questions put forth in this story that the reader must wade through to see if they believe that the muse can be recreated by science.
I love stories that include robots and artificial intelligence because I believe we are not far away from that in our every day life. I think that is not a stretch at all to believe, so it makes a science fiction story very believable for me. Fans of science fiction and stories like I, Robot and Robopocalypse will be intrigued by this tale and its concepts. The writing was intriguing, the characters were interesting, and the concepts were so crazy and interesting that this story inspires you to think long after you have reached the last page. People will be talking about this story and I think the answers they pick to the questions asked will say a lot about each person individually.
