Cremains by Rob Johnson is a laugh-out-loud crime comedy. Max Dempsey was once a successful bank manager. Until he got caught with his fingers in the till. He hasn’t told his wife that he no longer has a job at the bank and she just won't stop spending. Desperate for money, Max turns to bank robbery and finds himself deeply in debt to Danny Bishop, an undertaker. Max will do anything to pay the debt off and retain all his precious fingers. He just knew the day was going to go badly when a baby grand piano was accidentally dropped on an elderly lady, killing her. When Max agrees to a job for Danny, he has no idea what is in store and when his path crosses with Nikos Spiropoulos, a psychopath and a Greek gangster, Max realizes he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Meanwhile, on the top of a Scottish hill, Bernard Pemberton is getting ready to scatter his wife’s ashes, but it may not be her ashes in that urn – what else could it be?
Cremains by Rob Johnson is a hilarious comedy that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is fair to say that this is an insane story, so outlandish that it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if it were based on a true story! This is an 'action all the way' story, with some weird characters that you can’t help but like. The plot is steady and there are loads of twists and turns as the story hurtles towards an explosive ending. It is unpredictable and you will laugh your way through every page if you get and appreciate black humor. Fabulously funny story with cool, really well-developed characters and dialog that will probably change the way you speak forever. You will certainly learn a few new words and terms. Great story, and if you want something totally different, pick up this book – you won’t regret it.
