"Counselor Dynamite" is a new superhero and the counselor’s job is to protect children and support staff members in schools. It is almost time for Christmas break and tensions are high and patience is running on a super low. And it is time for Counselor Dynamite to come the rescue! Can Counselor Dynamite break down the tensions and stop the chaos that is about to happen on this special day before Christmas break begins? Check out Starr Burgess’s book, "Counselor Dynamite: Twas the Day Before Christmas Break".
I really like the approach Starr Burgess takes to create a calm atmosphere between students and teachers in the classrooms. And using a superhero character was an excellent choice to write about, because all children will listen to someone they look up too. And to use the format of the night before Christmas is really neat because it goes along with the Christmas spirit, and will help capture the attention of the kids better. Here is an excerpt from the book just to give you a small taste of what this book is about:
Twas the day before Christmas Break, when all through the school
Not a teacher was happy, they were losing their cool.
The students were rowdy, they were losing their minds
The teachers decided these children have one more time!
"Counselor Dynamite" is a must for a classroom with small children. Teachers will be able to teach children valuable lessons through reading this book to their class before Christmas break each year. The illustrations are so awesome whereas the colors are vivid and sure to attract your child's attention. It is not too early to be thinking about purchasing great books for the holidays, so be sure to put this one at the top of your list.
