I started writing in High School for my local newspaper before being sidetracked into a 40+ year career in Sports Photography after college. I have never stopped writing, just had to wait until I could slow down a bit from the real world to get serious again.

Ten years ago, Alex Chet was wrongfully convicted on drug charges, and served five years in prison. These days, he lives with his brother, who has returned from serving in the military and now works for the SC Bureau of Investigation in Columbia, SC. Life is going well for the brothers, until the Circuit Court judge who sentenced Alex is found murdered and mutilated. The death shocks the small state, especially when more bodies connected with the case are found throughout the state. What's most puzzling is that the bodies have been frozen and carefully placed with clues that the killer means to point straight to him. Unfortunately, those clues look a whole lot like they point toward Alex and Dallas. And that's unfortunate, because Dallas is assigned to the case, and he's desperate to know who stole the case file, and why. Corruption of Justice: A Dallas Chet Mystery, by Al B. Beard, is an intriguing mystery that not only takes you all over the State of South Carolina, but through an exciting and thrilling adventure as well.
I loved Corruption of Justice: A Dallas Chet Mystery because it's a great, clean mystery. I admit that I picked it up because I'm a resident of South Carolina, and was thrilled to find that this is an intriguing story that surpassed my expectations. Al B. Beard does an excellent job of showing the people of the state in a great light, and proving that southerners can be intelligent and discerning as well as loyal and honest. All of the detectives on the case have their own issues and motivations, but they come together to tackle this complex case with intelligence, wit, and good, old fashioned hard investigative work. It's a clever plot that will keep you guessing right up to the last page. A wonderful, compelling story that I highly recommend!
