When children help others, they develop their self-esteem, learn to be organized, acquire better habits, work as a team, and become empathetic and responsible. It’s never too early or too late to help, and Compassionate Kids: A Children's Book About Kindness and Love illustrates this. Stacy Bauer collates information from charitable causes organized by children and focused on helping people in need, supporting causes that assist animals, or seeking ecological solutions. This material includes explanations that show how change for the greater good of society is possible. Young readers will discover that joy can be found by helping others and no matter how small the contribution, it can always make a difference.
The presentation of Compassionate Kids is impeccable. It has lots of colors and the appearance is attractive and appealing. The images have clear explanations and the book is very well organized. Each category has a color and an icon that identifies the theme. I enjoyed looking at the actual photos of the children and reading about the creative ways they are helping society. It includes areas of interest and numerous examples that children can follow. The book is perfect for children and adults because they will be motivated by the ideas presented. Stacy Bauer explains the content in a manner that young readers can readily understand. There are also many links to charities for additional information. It is an inspiring book that contributes to making the world a better place.
