Claire Burke has wanted to be a nurse since she was a child. Now, after 4 years of training, she is ready to take to finals and find a job, far away from her country roots in Arkansas.
She plans to spend the summer with her grandparents back in the small town Dogwood while she figures out how to go about finding out where she really wants to work. What is God’s plan for her life? It seems all her plans are getting turned around.
When she goes to church with her grandparents, she is surprised to run into one of her patients and the preacher she had previously met under an unfortunate circumstance. What did she do to deserve this?
Suddenly, all her best laid plans are getting all mixed up in her mind. Does she stay in Dogwood? Will she accept the job in Dallas that she was offered? What about Jake Weston, the preacher? How can she fall for someone that is interested in someone else, or is he? Can she make a simple turn and “Come Round Right”
As you read this, you cannot help but laugh a little, get upset a little, and mostly shed a tear or two. This is one that will remain in my library to reread.
