Closer to the Sun by Goddess Nefertari is an uplifting and inspiring story that will take readers closer to the sun. The girl in the story is grateful to be alive and well and breathe fresh air, and she plans to use her power of imagination to focus and relax. As she flies in the sky she sees a group of butterflies and she feels free to spread her wings and fly as far as she wants to go. She feels good as she flies and she feels the energy of the nearby seagull and affirms that she is as pure as a white seagull and as free as a bird. There are more affirmations in the book as the story progresses and the girl sees different types of animals and becomes in tandem with nature. Let us fly with the little girl and bring positivity into our lives by recognizing the infinite potential of our souls.
This book is a great tool for everyone, including adults, to recognize and appreciate all of God's creation and introduces meditation to readers in an absolutely delightful way. Tatenda Ndove's illustrations are as positive as the author's words and make the story and the concept palpable to readers. The book is also a good way to draw children closer to the sun and understand the power and qualities of the sun. Children can create their own affirmations, depending on where they need to work on themselves, and there are a few coloring pages for kids to color and enjoy.
