Cimmy loved his human and he knew they were meant to be together in the storybook Cimmy and Baird: The Magic Arises by Susan Turner. Cimmy was a beautiful cat, with reddish coloring and white markings. He lived with his human friend Jacob at the end of a country lane where no other people lived. Jacob talked to Cimmy about his life, how hard he had worked, his wife who had passed away, and about the times he helped humans and animals who needed it. After three years of being together, Jacob told Cimmy that it was time for him to go to another world. Jacob asked Cimmy to choose between going back to a shelter or to go free in the yard or into the forest where he would have to find food on his own. Cimmy did not want to go back to the shelter and live in a cage. Read the story to discover Cimmy's adventures with his new friends in the forest.
It is a story of love, bonding, friendship, loss, hope, and healing, and it is heartwarming to see how Cimmy copes with the loss of his human friend Jacob and finds his place with another creature. The love between Bear and Cimmy and how that heals Bear is magical and the story reiterates the power and magic of love. The story has been well executed and all the characters are well portrayed and memorable. The narration is descriptive, making the scenes vivid. The story is filled with warmth and love that transcends boundaries, and shows how it is interconnected and runs through all the creatures living in this world. It is a beautiful storybook for children to read and help them understand the inexplicable bond that exists between plants, animals, and humans.
