Chloe and The Big Game by Chenita Jarrett is an adorable story that conveys a positive message to young readers. Chloe loves going to school and playing with her friends. Her mom buys her new shoes for the Big Basketball Game and she can't wait to show them off to her friends. She takes the snacks from her mom and runs towards the bus. Everyone is wearing their new hot shots that day except Calvin. Phoebe tells him that he cannot play the game tomorrow if he comes without hot shots. The next day Calvin wears the same pair of shoes. Will he be able to play the game? Read the story as it unfolds with some beautiful messages for readers.
The book introduces readers to some great values and messages that can be practiced in their daily lives. The illustrations are bright and colorful. They give good pace and movement to the story and also breathe life into the characters. It's a good bedtime storybook for children and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. All the characters in the story are delightful and real.
Books that have a good and positive message are always ideal for children as this makes them understand the message easily through the story and this story does just that. It teaches young readers the importance of sharing and giving as Chloe and her friends are getting ready for their Big Basketball Game.
