Prepare yourself for an electrifying experience with the third installment of The Jessica Ramirez Thrillers series, Chasing Karma, by Terry Shepherd. After saving a woman from a psychopathic killer, Detective Jessica Ramirez has a target on her back by the Triumvirate, a group of oligarchs from India, China, and Russia. The Triumvirate hires the world's deadliest assassin, known only as X, to eliminate who they perceive to be the biggest threat to their existence. When Jess disappears and is declared dead, her boyfriend, FBI Agent Michael Wright, and her partner, Alexandra Clark, take it upon themselves to find her. Meanwhile, Jess wakes to find herself devoid of memories and with a new identity and face. Now, Alexandra is going after the Triumvirate while Jess prepares for a final confrontation with the one whose identity Jess has inadvertently stolen.
Chasing Karma is a non-stop thrill ride from the first page to the last. Author Terry Shepherd wastes no time in putting the reader right into the midst of the action, and the pacing rarely slows until the end. The plot throws unexpected curveballs along the way that you never see coming, and it keeps you on the edge as you wonder what will happen next. The characters feel well-developed, and with everyone having a shared history, it creates a compelling dynamic between the main protagonists. I particularly enjoyed the scenes featuring Jess, Michael, and Alexandra. Simply put, if you love to read pulsating, action-packed thrillers, this one will be right up your alley.
