Candid Conversations: Real Women. Real Life. Real Faith by Heather Hart collects insightful accounts from inspiring women. The book encourages women to be candid about their struggles so that they can come together and support each other. In the chapter Your Life is God’s Story, Maretha Retief tells her story. Born with a disability in her left hand, she encountered ridicule from other children during her childhood. Performance became her way to overcome her challenges until she experienced Christ’s love. In the chapter Judgements and Jesus, Heather Hart opens up about her difficulty in loving other Christians, especially those who lack humility and fail to love as Christ does. Other chapters explore topics such as confidence, patience, forgiveness, and much more.
In Candid Conversations, different struggles that many Christians face are highlighted and addressed through guidance from scriptures. The book points to the presence of the Holy Spirit that continually works within us. It also focuses on Christ who, despite our imperfections, continues to love us. The book is neatly organized and each chapter ends with questions that help in applying the insights in the book. Scriptures are quoted in every section and they offer a foundation for the messages. The accounts are offered with humility and candidness and they show that every Christian has issues they struggle with. Candid Conversations by Heather Hart is a collection of amazing stories that uplift through the openness of the narrators and their encouraging conclusions. This book is a great read for Christians and non-Christians seeking encouragement and growth.
