A delightful, brilliant story with important lessons every child should learn, Camp Cattitude by Kate Giles tells the story of a kitten who remains true to himself and sets an example for others. Some of the lessons kittens learn at Meowmoiselle’s camp include how to be fussy, how to ignore their names when called, how to shred furniture to pieces, and more. The camp has produced some of the most famous kittens including the world’s best sofa shredder. When Snug joins the camp, Meowmoiselle worries he will never be able to fit it in with other cats. Unlike his fellow kittens, Snug loves everyone and is always willing to help. One day, all hell breaks loose when Meowmoiselle is away. It is Snug’s quick thinking that saves the day and leaves his teacher impressed.

Through fantastic illustrations and witty storytelling, Camp Cattitude teaches children and adults the value of courtesy, authenticity, and treating others kindly. I found the characters amusing and enjoyed the story’s clever and humorous depiction of cat and dog behavior. Children will love Snug and will be inspired by his leadership and problem-solving abilities. They will also be entertained by the activities and lessons offered at Camp Cattitude. The story reads smoothly and its fun vocabulary offers children an opportunity to learn new words in an engaging way. A wonderful children’s picture book with funny scenes and useful lessons, Camp Cattitude by Kate Giles will be a great addition to any child’s library. Highly recommended for children and adult readers.

Camp Cattitude by Kate Giles is a children’s picture book that unfolds in the world’s best kitten camp run by Meowmoiselle, where cats learn how to behave themselves and perhaps become famous. To be accepted, they should follow the camp rules: be picky, ignore requests, lounge around, and be the boss. Mother cats wait in line to sign up their kittens for classes. Unfortunately, the camp’s neighbors are the Rottweilers who have been bothered by the noisy cats and they have already complained to the animal patrol. Meowmoiselle is afraid that if they complain again, her camp will be shut down. Then Snug, a lonely kitten, shows up at her door and is accepted in the camp. The kindly Snug does not fit in because she has no cattitude. One day, the kitties escape to the Rottweilers' yard and destroy the lawn chairs. Will the animal patrol shut down Camp Cattitude?

Kate Giles’s Camp Cattitude, illustrated by Ben Chandler and Enile Reiner, is a delightful book that should appeal to both children and adults. The author has a distinctive way of coining words that reveals a sharp sense of humor. The characters are engaging and the illustrations are charming. Snug is an extraordinary cat and is easy to love. Cat owners can relate to Meowmoiselle as she teaches the kittens how to behave like cats. This is a modern-day fable that teaches the moral lesson of using gentleness to resolve conflicts, and I highly recommend it to all readers!

Camp Cattitude is a colorfully illustrated children's book by Kate Giles. The story is about Meowmoiselle, who runs Camp Cattitude, where she teaches kittens how to have the right Cattitude with lessons in howling and yowling, lazing around, and being picky, to name a few. She knows she is in trouble when she takes in one more kitten with no cattitude. The Rottweiler neighbors have already complained to animal control, and it will take only one more complaint to close Camp Cattitude. When Meowmoiselle is away one afternoon, Snug hears a commotion and discovers the other kittens have gone into the Rottweiler yard and are shredding and ruining the garden and furniture. What can Snug do? Will Camp Cattitude be closed down? How will Meowmoiselle react when she comes back?

Camp Cattitude by Kate Giles is a colorful and fun book for young readers. The author takes a lovable pet and spins a story of where kittens go to learn all the peculiar behavior we associate with cats. Giles draws in the audience by placing kittens in a school setting familiar to younger children, then teaches a fundamental life lesson about having good manners and respect for other people and their possessions. The eye-catching illustrations will amuse even the youngest reader. The lesson taught is done in an amusing and relaxed manner that will entertain long after the lesson has been learned. Older readers will love the puns and play on words found on every page, which teaches how language is fun and how one can use language in new and interesting ways.
