I thought Rude Boy was a masterpiece, but Victoria Bolton has delivered a stunning success with yet more surprises and a package that will have readers entertained, intrigued, and hooked all along the dangerous ride. BunnyWine, the second part in the Rude Boy USA series, features compelling characters like John LeBlanc, a powerful gangster with the illusion that one can retire from a life of crime and law-breaking, only he forgets that the demons we create do follow us to the grave; and the ambitious criminal prosecutor Mario Pasquale who’ll do everything, even striking a deal with an unreliable mob convict to catch the only man who’s evaded him and the justice system, only he’s forgotten that promises are made to be broken.
The reader is again submerged in the world of the Chimera group and the glaring atrocities committed by its members. John LeBlanc might be living a new life peacefully as a businessman in Jamaica, but back in New York City, there is one man who’d want to see him pay for the crimes of yesteryear, and that one man will stop at nothing to get justice done. But what happens when a deal with a mob member goes awry is left to the reader to find out.
Victoria Bolton has this rare ability to make crime stories seem so real and convincing. The prose is beautiful and it mimics the reality of the world the author creates for her readers. The plot is as gripping as the characters, and it is interesting to see how John LeBlanc works through the dilemma in which he finds himself. The powerful plot points are highlighted by the masterful use of conflict which is developed at different layers of the plot and which makes it move even faster. BunnyWine by Victoria Bolton is a highly satisfying read and lovers of crime fiction and thrillers will be glued to it. Couldn’t put it down!
