Bridge of Comprehension by Albert Mordechai is a powerful novel dealing with complex subjects. Anyone who wants to learn more about the Middle East should read this very important book. As I write this review, Donald Trump has made his statement about no Muslims being allowed into America and the whole world is thinking very hard about the refugees from Syria. Israel has been dealing with the instability of the Middle East since its inception.
This is a great read. Amir is a complicated character but he is sympathetically drawn. He is a Jew, a warrior, and a family man with all the complications these things imply. His wife, Amanda, is a Christian with Muslims in her family. In this family, the Middle Eastern problem never goes away, like a gloomy cloud hanging around the apartment. Amir is a successful Jew living in New York. When he get's called up, you can bet things are very, very hot.
Bridge of Comprehension by Albert Mordechai is a novel looking at these problems from the perspective of building bridges between the hearts and minds of the many players involved. Albert Mordechai puts a human face on a very important problem. Everyone knows the Middle East needs this bridge. Albert Mordechai may be one of the few people who can build it. I've often found that a well written informative novel on a subject is much better than thousands of sound bites on the evening news. This is one of those powerful, informative novels.
