Brave Falls by AnneMarie Mazotti Gouveia is Book 3 in the Drifters Realm series. Triplets Roe, Ori, and Tora are roaming the caverns of the Desolation Mountains with their elder brother Theo and the Menace, a group of runaway teenagers led by their leader, Hao. After trying to take away his sister Roe's Life Giver powers, Ori sets off for the First City on his own and arrives in the library, where he comes across the Knowledge Bearer Yen and seeks his help in acquiring the Chemist Obligation power. Meanwhile, Roe and the rest of the group search for the Blue Wall, hoping to stop Zane and his poisoned Guardians from conquering the Drifters Realm. However, Ori has chosen his side, and as Zane and the Guardians launch their attack, Roe and her allies must stand their ground.
Brave Falls is the perfect book for young fantasy adventure lovers who crave lots of magic, mystery, and lore in stories. Author AnneMarie Mazotti Gouveia has built a sprawling world filled with mystique and wonder, featuring diverse terrains, powerful magic, and compelling characters that are easy to root for. Although it's the third book in a series, it can be read as a standalone novel as well. Gouveia wastes no time in getting the reader invested in the story, weaving a fast-paced plot that surprises at every turn. The relationship dynamics between Roe, her friends, and her siblings, especially with Ori, are captivating. Roe's and Ori's different story arcs were the book's highlight for me. I also enjoyed how Roe and her allies came together to fight against Zane and the Guardians. All in all, it is a must-read for young adult fantasy fans.
