The story follows five friends as they try to figure out how they can find the demons that have taken hold of their small community. Benny, Mike, Toby, Shannon, and Scott made the mistake of letting the evil Brigitta and Lee LaBouche escape their clutches and now they are paying the price for it. Now, they are back and they want revenge. They have joined forces with Chaz Welsh; they are now hunting the people who hunted them and they are ready for them to pay. No matter where Benny and the group go, they find danger dogging their steps. What are they going to do? Can they save themselves as well as the people in their town from the demons that haunt them?

This was an intense, scare-your-pants-off novel that will make you want to close your eyes, but not really because you need to know what happens next. Oh, I hated Chaz and Brigitta, they were just evil, but I guess this is what Erik Henry Vick wanted me to feel when I read these characters. Although I have not read the previous novels in the series, I had no issues with jumping on board with these five amazing characters and having the worst scares of my life while reading. Even though I read it in broad daylight, I was a little spooked and just wanted to hide for a little bit. The narrative is beyond amazing, the characters have so much potential and I believe that the whole series is going to be phenomenal. I loved this book! Absolutely brilliant!

This is a thriller with breathtaking action and scenes that are infused with disturbing elements of horror, focused and ingeniously written. The writing is upbeat and while it is written for fans of horror, it flows naturally and any humor is grim. The plot is skillfully designed and the reader has this disturbing awareness that something awful is about to happen in the next moment. And something awful usually does happen in the next moment. The suspense is strong, and while the reader follows with bated breath, they can't help but care about the multidimensional characters. They want to see what happens next to the characters. Erik Henry Vick has a unique gift for character and they are wholly developed, allowing readers to see them in their younger life and when older. Black Swan is a fast-paced, unnerving and delightful horror tale that will, most likely, keep fans awake the whole night.
