Bitcoin: Just The Facts by Beverley Douglas is a succinct guide that presents facts about Bitcoin in a nutshell. This is for readers who have very limited knowledge about Bitcoin, and may perhaps be interested in investing in this in the future. Though presented in a positive light, the reader must also understand that this type of trading is highly risky, and investors can lose significant amounts of money. However, with that out of the way, I thought the presentation was mostly sound.
Bitcoin: Just The Facts provides a brief background on Bitcoin, explaining how it works as an electronic currency; how it is stored; how it can be bought and sold, and various trading strategies. Again, the reader needs to be aware that this book is a beginning source of trading information, and they should seek additional and advanced resources before considering trading Bitcoin. The reason I emphasize this is that often potential investors are tempted and driven by emotion to seek out get rich quick investment opportunities before being fully prepared: research, paper trading, watching valuations, and so forth.
The book mentions hacking and downplays the risk. However, according to Forbes, hacking actually is a serious risk. So the reader simply needs a broad awareness of all that is involved in investing in Bitcoin. Bitcoin: Just The Facts by Beverley Douglas is a beginner’s introduction to the fairly new world of cyber currency. It is a good start toward understanding this area of investment, providing some fundamental facts.
