Biblical Experiences by I. Daryl Pressley is a deep and profound treatise on Biblical living. Mr. Pressley presents multiple sound examples of how reading and following the Bible can enrich one’s life. It would be difficult to argue against any of the points presented in Biblical Experiences because every point the author makes is backed up with pertinent scripture. His technique is somewhat unique, but very powerful, in that sometimes he makes a point then documents it with scripture, while other times he begins with scripture, then explains how it applies to the individual, the family, the church, and/or the community today. Mr. Pressley is not bashful about confessing his own shortcomings. Quite to the contrary, he often uses his own life, past or present, to amplify a scriptural reference or moral point.
Biblical Experiences is a book I would like to read again, perhaps studying it in-depth with Bible in hand. Much of this book is dedicated to the discussion of prophecy, both prophecies already fulfilled and prophecies yet to be fulfilled. There is also a great deal of attention given to the wisdom of maintaining a strong faith in God; many Old Testament examples of God’s judgment poured out upon doubting or disbelieving Israelites are shown in light of today’s global disbelief and downright mockery of God. He makes the very valid point that America better shape up, or else! I. Daryl Pressley has crafted a brilliant Biblical study guide. This book belongs on the bookshelf of every Christian and every sinner.
