Author Tim Cole's book entitled Biblical Answers for Struggling Marriages: 31 Studies for Marriage at an Impasse is a very well-written and helpful book. Tim gives readers many detailed examples as well as helpful insights to not only allow them to see they aren't the only ones going through difficult situations within their marriages, but he also gives practical advice and wisdom to help the individual and couple improve their marriage. There is great focus upon the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the importance of the cross within a strong and productive marriage. There are moments that one must defend their marriage and others in which they must beg in repentance. This book describes the real world of marriage and gives great tools to help couples become stronger and more effective within their relationship.
There are enemies of a marriage that author Cole describes in a very helpful manner. There are scriptures to glean eternal truth from as well as practical advice on how to not only handle the current situation, but how to improve upon the present so the future is much brighter and happier. This would be a great marriage counseling tool. This could also be used as a small group study, taking the chapters and breaking them down into excellent discussion themes to learn and grow from each other. If you are looking for a book that is real, practical, and to the point, then this is the book for you. I would encourage pastors to place this in their church libraries and bookstores to help strengthen their families within the local church.
