Author Biography

Author, Robin Mahle, lives with her husband and two children in Arizona.

Robin found her passion for writing, which later became her second career, after spending nearly 20 years in the construction industry.

Having always been a lover of books, Robin attributes her creativity to the wonderful overseas adventures she has shared with her husband of 14 years. Backpacking (or certainly close to it), throughout Europe and having lived in England, opened her mind and with that came a steady stream of story ideas inspired by her author- idols in the suspense/thriller genre.

Robin published her debut mystery/suspense novel, Redwood Violet in the Spring of 2013. And in September 2013, the much-anticipated sequel, All the Shiny Things (Redwood Violet II), was released. Both have become Amazon Bestsellers!

Robin has now released her third novel, an exciting suspense/thriller, Beyond the Clearing.

Reviewed by Anne-Marie Reynolds for Readers' Favorite

Beyond the Clearing by Robin Mahle is a mixture of horror and the supernatural. The story begins with Mrs Sylva arriving at The Serenity Resort to try to come to terms with her husband's death. One evening she walks through a clearing, towards the light. The next morning her body is found. Maggie, Rachel, and Susan set off to spend a week at The Serenity Resort as a way of remembering their best friend, Diana, who died the year before. Things are not all they seem though as, one by one, the girls are drawn to the light, to an age-old creature that lives below the surface. The creature feeds off their fears and the only one that can help them is Linda, another guest at the resort, who has been having visions about their future. What should have been a week's holiday turns into a fight for survival.

Robin Mahle is onto a winner with Beyond the Clearing. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. The storyline is clear, the characters marvellously played out, and the whole story falls into place seamlessly. There are no dead patches, no slow parts, everything is relevant to the tale. Although it could be said that this type of story has been written so many times before, none have been carried out in the way that this one has. This is a unique take on an old story and has been skilfully pulled off.
