This is a lovely child friendly book, with a strong simple message that they can understand. Everyone is different but we all contribute. Along with the storyline, it is illustrated to appeal to children and parents. I hope it is the first of a series of books covering other disabilities.

My kids loved this book, and were captivated until the end. A lovely story about a bat who is different but his differences are what makes him special and unique. An excellent message for kids to hear. Beautifully illustrated and well written, a book I'd certainly recommend for children.

What an amazing book for introducing young children to difference and to the challenges that some people face. The message about inclusivity is so clear and the story also would help those with a difference or disability to recognise their own strengths and see themselves as the hero's that they are. The illustrations are gorgeous, the story is uplifting and Bertie is just so cute and lovable as a character. My kids loved it and we will definitely be buying future books in this collection.

This book is brilliant! I recommend it to all. It’s beautifully written & the illustrations are fabulous! I’ll be sending it in to my children’s school & nursery. It will also come in useful at work if/when I am working with children (Psychologist). What a lovely book for any child. Beautifully written and illustrated. Love the way the rhyme continues throughout and the most important message is the one to that child who does feel that little bit different than everyone around them. Well done to all involved cannot wait for the next one

This book is wonderful and I highly recommend it ! Bertie is a lovable character who overcomes his disability and shows his resilience. The story flows beautifully, and is written in rhyme that works so well. The clear illustrations bring Bertie and his adventures to life , perfect for young children who love a good story. As a former Primary School teacher, I can see how much enjoyment could be got from this book at story time,and through the curriculum. I cannot wait for more from "The Bit Different collection" . A superb book to start off the collection !

My boys aged 2 and 5 loved this book. Would also be good for older children too to spark a good discussion. It’s so important for little ones to learn that everyone is different & equally wonderful in their own way. Fantastic book, we can’t wait for the rest of the series.

This book is beautifully written and wonderfully illustrated. It’s shares an important message about inclusivity, whilst making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It was a huge hit with my 6 year old. Can’t wait to read more of the collection!

My girls (5 & 8) and I absolutely loved this book. They loved Bertie and thought he was very cute and his difficulty with his vision sparked great conversation. In a world where kids face social pressures of trying to ‘fit in’ it’s great to open conversations at a young age about differences and that they can be a super power.

Rhyming text with beautiful illustrations. Bertie the Bat needs to find his inner strength and learn to believe in his own abilities to be able to get out of a tricky situation. This is a wonderful book for anyone who is or feels a bit different. To be able to relate to and cheer Bertie on. Additionally anyone can enjoy the story that can also open up interesting discussions about acceptance and inclusiveness.

I bought this story to help my daughter understand that everyone is different but all have our own talents. I have to say it got the point across in a beautiful way. Gorgeous rhyming book with lovely illustrations. I'm going to share with all of my mammy friends.

Bought this book for my 8 and 6 year old but will be using it as work as well. My kids love the rhyming story and beautiful illustrations. I love the message behind the book. I’m a child therapist so will be using it at work as it really hits the mark for children who might be struggling with being ‘a bit different’

Bertie is a fighter! Bertie reminds us all that being different is ok. That it is ok to do one things great and other things not so much! Very inspiring story!

Wonderful book for so many reasons!

This book is wonderfully written and contains the cutest illustrations. As I teacher this book is going to make a wonderful addition to my collection for so many reasons. I think I'll be especially useful for a poetry unit as it contains great use of onomatopoeia as well as graphics and punctuation. The best part is the message of inclusivity and how we are all just a little bit different. It's great way to learn to embrace our uniqueness we all bring to our world. Highly recommend.
