Amy was a sparkly girl. She sparkled wherever she went. Amy loved school and storytime was the best part of school for her. On Monday, Amy's teacher read a story about dinosaurs and Amy wanted to be a T-Rex when she grew up. Everyone laughed when she said that and Amy heard someone saying she was not strong enough to be a T-Rex. She was angry and sad. On Wednesday, her teacher read another story and it was about unicorns. After listening to the story, Amy wanted to be a unicorn when she grew up. The other kids laughed at her, saying she was only a girl and lacked the magical qualities needed to be a unicorn. Amy was sad. On Friday, Amy's teacher had a special story on mermaids. Amy was sure she could be one because she was a good swimmer. The other kids laughed even harder when she said she wanted to be a mermaid because they thought she was fat and mermaids were beautiful. Amy sat down and cried, and her tears washed away her sparkle. What happened when she visited Bubby, her grandma, on Saturday?
