Dr. Debra D. Givens
was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. She serves as assistant pastor to Apostle Dennis Givens, who is the founder of New Horizons Outreach Ministry in two locations. They have two beautiful daughters.
Debra is a sought out international conference speaker and has spread the gospel via a local television network, LeSEA Broadcasting channel 46 in South Bend, IN, and a national weekly Broadcast on Dish Network, a weekly cable television broadcast. a local weekly radio station and other broadcast across the nation. Debra Givens is called upon to minister and sing in conferences, revivals, and seminars across the country. Debra is an author of a Readers Favorite award winning book entitled, Favor in the Rough. Most biblical interpretations tend to highlight the role of men in God's salvific mission, putting women in second place, an interpretation that can be excused by the cultural biases that have shaped our thinking over the years. But in this book, the author explores the enviable place of the daughters of God in the Bible, examining the role played by some of the prominent women in the Bible as builders, prophetesses, queens, and more. In looking at the lives of women like Esther, the author offer messages and inspiration for women of all ages, indicating their role in the salvation of humanity and offering motivation for them to become the winners they are created to be.
This book is a heart-to-heart conversation between the author and women of any standing, a conversation that highlights their beauty in the eyes of their creator and that invites them to claim their rightful place in salvation.
