Behold, The King's Daughters: Discover Your Inheritance as a Daughter of The King by Debra Denise Givens is a wonderful book that not only explores womanhood but defines the place of the woman and her mission from a biblical perspective. Most biblical interpretations tend to highlight the role of men in God's salvific mission, putting women in second place, an interpretation that can be excused by the cultural biases that have shaped our thinking over the years. But in this book, the author explores the enviable place of the daughters of God in the Bible, examining the role played by some of the prominent women in the Bible as builders, prophetesses, queens, and more. In looking at the lives of women like Esther, the author offer messages and inspiration for women of all ages, indicating their role in the salvation of humanity and offering motivation for them to become the winners they are created to be.
This book is a heart-to-heart conversation between the author and women of any standing, a conversation that highlights their beauty in the eyes of their creator and that invites them to claim their rightful place in salvation. The words are packed with power and positive exclamations that compel readers to visualize the glory they are chosen to share. Here is a powerful one: “You, dear heart, are the daughter of a king. The King of kings! You were born to reign in life. You were born to encourage, empower, and shift the mind-sets of people who are downtrodden. Set your standards high. Challenge yourself.” This is a book that unveils the mystery and beauty of womanhood and the author does an impeccable job in helping readers connect with the powerful women in the Bible, hence redefining their own identity. The short paragraphs, the beauty and simplicity in language, and the insights make Behold, The King's Daughters: Discover Your Inheritance as a Daughter of The King both enjoyable and inspirational.
