In Becoming An Angel of Change: Life Changing Stories to Help You Discover Your Strength, Your Uniqueness, and Your Purpose Bineta Ngom tells her story about growing up in Senegal and migrating to the United States for greener pastures, which were not exactly as green as she had imagined. She also shares the insights she gained about navigating life and finding meaning through meditation, following The Oprah Winfrey Show, and learning some profound ideas from different highly acclaimed self-help authors. When Bineta moved to the US to join her husband, she suffered the guilt of leaving her son in Senegal and hoped to reunite with him in good time. Though ultimately a positive, transformative experience, Bineta's stay in the US encountered some challenges, including a strong feeling of loneliness because the social life of the Americans differed from what she experienced in Senegal, striving to make a living in a different work environment, racism, divorce, and more.
A deeply touching, intriguing, and inspiring story, Bineta Ngom's memoir addresses the human in us and proves that no matter how different we are or where we come from, we share a common need to survive, grow, and live a meaningful life. Her philanthropy endeavors extend to the pages of Becoming An Angel of Change as she gives us a look into her vulnerable moments and how she found the strength to persevere and help others in need. The book includes numerous insights and words of advice for immigrants, parents, and anyone who wishes to find more fulfillment in life. I was seriously inspired by Bineta's memoir about growing up in her grandparents' house, without a father, and starting afresh in a foreign country. She flawlessly merges greatly captivating stories with profound life lessons to create an invaluable, unforgettable experience.
