What does it mean to be a genuine believer? Kenneth Kirkwood fleshes out the concept in his book Becoming a Real Believer: A 21 Day Journey to Truly Living For God. Are you a new Christian? Have you been a Christian a long time but have not grown spiritually? If either answer is a “yes,” then this book is for you. Kenneth takes the reader on a 21-day journey to growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. He leads the reader into a deeper relationship with the Lord. Since Satan is a liar and the father of lies, why listen to him? Instead, listen to the loving voice of your heavenly Father because He cares for you. Step-by-step, you will grow in your spiritual life as you read this book. At the end of the 21 days, you will have the basics of the Christian life down and be prepared to spend time growing more and more in Christ each day.
Some people say it takes 21 days to make a habit. Becoming a Real Believer by Kenneth Kirkwood has 21 days of devotionals so I think this is intentional. As one grows in Christ, they want to spend time with Him. This book gives a sound understanding of growing in and living for Christ. No matter how long you have been a Christian, you will enjoy these short devotionals and glean some genuine golden nuggets of wisdom from them. At the end of 21 days, you will have developed the habit of reading Bible devotionals. I highly recommend you continue to read and grow in Christ. Use the foundation of seeing yourself as God sees you and depending on Him to lead, protect, and rescue you to find more devotionals to keep the momentum going. This book is destined to become a classic!
