Beauty's Curse: A Historical Fantasy Fairy Tale Retelling of Sleeping Beauty (Once Upon a Princess Book 1) by C.S. Johnson is a stunning fantasy story about a young princess named Aurora, but she calls herself Rose. She is cursed to fall into a deep sleep on her eighteenth birthday. Rose has spent the latest four years of her life trying to stop that from happening by hunting down fairies and trying to get answers to her questions. However, she gets a message from the King, saying that she must either marry or abdicate the throne. She and her friends go home, but the journey is not easy. They have to fight fairies, but finally they manage to get home. She eventually learns about dragon's blood, which could kill any immortal, and could possibly stop her curse. What will Princess Rose do?
I really, really enjoyed reading Beauty's Curse by C.S. Johnson. The book is very well written and descriptive. Even though the story is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty, the author still makes it her own, and this is one of the best versions I've ever read. The story is thrilling, and is sure to keep the reader on the edge of their seat, wanting to know more. I was hooked by the first page, and I never wanted to put the book down. The characters are very likeable, as they are loyal and brave. This book is exciting from cover to cover, and I can't wait to read the next one. This is a real page turner, and is filled with suspense and action. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.
