Beauty is definitely not the type of story that you would expect it to be. It’s not just about the concept of beauty but the way that beauty is flawed. It’s about the way that ugliness is also flawed and how much people are willing to give up to get one and remove the other. What would you be willing to do for true beauty after all? Would you be willing to risk everything? Well, the women in this book are willing to take chances and big risks to get what they want out of life and Jamie is determined to give them exactly that. D’Amato has woven a story of modern beliefs with something out of a fairy tale in this story.
Jamie is an artist but he’s also become a doctor. Not a real doctor with a license but one that can perform procedures guaranteed to make anyone look exactly the way they want. This story puts you right into the mind of someone who is, admittedly, a little bit crazy. He’s in love with beauty and his love for it is what makes this story something that you won’t be able to turn away from. You’ll be captivated from beginning to end because D’Amato has created a crazed collection of New York life and the lives of the rich and powerful so simply known as Beauty.
You won’t be able to keep yourself from reading ‘just one more page’ over and over again until you find yourself at the end just hoping for more.
