Beachy Keen: Falling for Summer is a work of fiction in the romantic comedy, drama, and slice-of-life genres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience. Penned by author Kasey Stockton, the plot follows Cat Keene, who needs money to save her family’s Bed & Breakfast. Billionaire Noah Belacourt, who has had a crush on Cat since their teens, offers to help. Reluctantly, Cat agrees to work as his personal assistant for the summer. As they work together, Cat realizes Noah isn't who she thought he was, leading her to confront her past and hope for a better future. This sweet rom-com explores themes of love, trust, and second chances.
Author Kasey Stockton utilizes a natural gift for dialogue and emotional narration to craft a delightful and heartwarming rom-com. The chemistry between Cat and Noah was palpable from the start, and their evolving relationship kept me hooked as it showed two unique attitudes and ways of viewing the world coming together to challenge one another. Cat's struggle to save her family's B&B is a great starting point for her characterization, which only continues to grow with some brilliant speech and thought presentation to convey her emotions and drive. Noah's genuine kindness and longstanding affection for Cat were endearing, contrasting beautifully with the typical billionaire stereotype to offer something deeper and more surprising. The dynamic of working as his personal assistant brought a fresh twist, filled with sweet and humorous moments that made me smile. The author’s ability to blend romance with personal growth and redemption was impressive, creating a narrative that was both engaging and emotionally satisfying with lots of great tension and twists. Overall, Beachy Keen was a charming read that left me eager to explore more from this series of unique standalone reads, and I’d certainly recommend it to romance fans everywhere.
