In a great new work of fiction by author George Encizo, Baxter House is a story that will grab readers from the very first page and will keep them obsessively turning the pages all the way through to the very last. Follow the story of Master Gunnery Sergeant Bradley Harding as he arrives in the cozy town of Blocker's Bluff, South Carolina, ready to start his new life just as soon as his enlistment ends. But he has one piece of business to finish up before his new life can start, he needs to find and confront someone from his past, someone who has haunted him for too long. Renting a room at the quaint Baxter House, Bradley starts to dig into the past, but finds that there are definitely those ready to do almost anything to keep things buried. With a cast of characters including a haunted police chief trying to solve the case of her own husband's attack and a wounded friend that Bradley is determined to help, this story is one that will tug at the reader's heartstrings, as well as keep them completely engrossed, all at the same time!
I very much enjoyed Baxter House. Author George Encizo has done a wonderful job in creating characters that his readers will be able to relate to, will connect with, and will truly come to care about, thinking of them long after the last pages are read. If that isn't a hallmark of a great author, I'm not sure what is. His story is extremely well crafted, and readers will find themselves up much later than they planned, reading it well into the night just to find out what will happen. I highly recommend this book to any lover of fiction, and certainly look forward to reading more from the obviously talented author, George Encizo, as soon as I possibly can!
