While using only collateral duty personnel, there should be a minimum of one collateral safety specialist for five-hundred employees. According to Fanning, a basic training program is a must-have to ensure that all personnel in any given organization are well-trained to safely execute their tasks. The book contains in-depth information on the different safety programs, the allocation of fiscal resources to safety programs, and the duties of an additional duty safety representative, including hazard recognition, assessment, and abatement, as well as administrative duties.

Overall, I found the book highly educational and informative. A must-read for safety specialists.
