Baguette Bear and the Sac Surprise (French and English for Kids) is the first book in this fascinating educational series, which is both written and illustrated by Alison Mcrobbie. This book will help you to teach your child how to speak French, and carries both French and English dialogues throughout. Whether it be the fundamentals of counting or being able to identify and pronounce basic items in a person’s everyday life, learning French becomes a wonderful journey through the use of magic and sing-alongs.
Teaching your child how to speak a foreign language is a marvelous concept, and I was quite impressed with the methods shown in the first book of the Baguette Bear series. As someone who speaks five languages (French is not one of them), it fascinates me how a child’s brain could easily identify and speak the names of items, animals and numbers through the use of rhyme and repetition. Clear instructions on how to use the book are given at the very beginning, ensuring that no parent feels lost in the learning process. Alison Mcrobbie’s educational book for young children is, indeed, ingenious and is fully interactive, enabling both children and adults to immerse themselves into a new and fantastic world.
Baguette Bear and the Sac Surprise shows how learning a new language can be fun and easy. I very much enjoyed immersing myself in this cultural journey, and recommend Baguette Bear and the Sac Surprise to parents of young children who are interested in the French language, or who plan on moving to or visiting France in the future.
