App Mash-Up Volume 1: Minecraft and Angry Birds by PT Evans is the story of two kids who get sucked into the world of Minecraft and find themselves alongside their favorite characters, the Angry Birds. The story begins with Jackson and Suzie playing Minecraft while they are at the car wash with their mom. Things take a different turn when they try to charge the phone using a new charger. A freak accident occurs and Jackson and Suzie find themselves inside their favorite game of Minecraft. The zombies there are much more ferocious than the ones in their games back home. Will they be able to get back home?
The story is a fun and adventurous read and will definitely put a smile on the faces of young readers. The illustrations are colorful and give pace and movement to the scenes, making them vivid and lively. It's a story that will connect well with kids, especially with all those who love Angry Birds and Minecraft. All the characters in the story are likeable and tangible. It's a good bedtime storybook and can also be used for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The concept is interesting for kids who love to play games and they will love the idea of having their favorite apps and games together. On the whole, it's a fun read and will make young readers look forward to having that sort of adventure in their lives.
